Beautiful bird's-eye view of Manhattan with Brooklyn in the background in the mid 19th Century. The importance of New York City as a port is exemplified by the number of boats in the Hudson and East Rivers. 14 locations are noted in the key. Union Square is referred to as Union Park, and Washington Square is still Washington Parade Gardens. Scarce — not listed in the standard American views reference books by Reps or Peters.
