A fine English Victorian mailbox, the acorn finial surmounting a domed top above conforming octagonal stepped molded frieze, the octagonal box with medial molded decoration, one of the sides with a brass-trimmed rectangular mail slot above single hinged full panel door, the door having brass-trimmed manuscript paper sign "Collection Times Weekdays 10 a.m. & 4 p.m., Saturday 12 Noon, Sunday None," all raised on conforming octagonal stepped molded plinth base. This mailbox probably was used in a Victorian multiple dwelling or hotel lobby.
