Gold flag poles held by chains lean from the top, suggesting castle towers or the pageantry of a royal court. This was possibly a modernist design for a production based on <strong>Alice in Wonderland<\/strong>, in which Alice encounters the Queen of Hearts and her playing-card courtiers. Little is known about this artist though set designs for the following productions have been located: <strong>Sabrina Fair<\/strong>, a romantic comedy which ran on Broadway in the 1950s, design for a backyard patio terrace; <strong>You Can&#8217;t Take It With You<\/strong>, sketch dated April 18, 1957; <strong>Cosi Fan Tutte<\/strong>, a Mozart opera, 5 set designs dated April and May 1956.<\/p>\n<p>Condition: Generally very good with the usual overall light wear, toning, handling.
