Vanity Fair<\/strong>, the premier British society periodical of the time, featured caricatures of prominent men and women of the day, such as businessmen, politicians, lawyers and sportsmen. These prints were published in Vanity Fair<\/strong> from the Victorian to Edwardian period, between 1868-1914. The portraits were rendered by leading artists including Sir Leslie Ward (1851-1922), known as “Spy” and Carlo Pelligrini, known as “Ape.” The early 20th century Vanity Fair<\/strong> prints, by a variety of artists–including Sir Max Beerbohm (1872-1956), English essayist, critic, and caricaturist–are generally less common, as circulation of the magazine had diminished from its Victorian heyday.<\/p>\n

Condition: Generally very good with the usual light toning, wear, soiling, soft creases.
