Michael Burghers was a Dutch-born engraver who emigrated to England in 1672-73. He worked in Oxford as assistant to the engraver David Loggan from 1673 and either was appointed or called University Engraver after Loggan’s death in 1692. At Oxford, he engraved the university almanacs.<\/p>\n
