It is filled with illustrations of buildings, contemporary and historic ships (e.g. a Norse ship and Verrazano’s ship from 1524), naval vessels, landmarks, and people. Some individual homes are labeled with their owners’ names including Mrs. Auchincloss and Vincent Astor; public and historic buildings are also identified. The oceans are dotted with ships and airplanes. The map shows place names, streets, railroads, and parks, along with historical notes. It is decorated with a border of U.S. Navy sailors in various poses, interspersed with women in red dresses. The city seal of Newport appears top center and two illustrations in the lower corners show a whaler and a pirate ship. Two sailors — one in a contemporary naval uniform and one dressed in 19th-century garb — stand on either side of the map title at the bottom of the map. There is a decorative compass rose upper left with a mileage scale above it. The colorful map and illustrations are rendered in black outline filled in with areas of flat color.

Product description continues below.

[4187
61,538,501,893,6573,529,6688,1578
0":"post-24715","1":"product","2":"type-product","3":"status-publish","4":"has-post-thumbnail","6":"product_cat-archive-sold-maps-views","7":"product_tag-20th-century","8":"product_tag-map","9":"product_tag-maritime","10":"product_tag-new-england","11":"product_tag-newport","12":"product_tag-pictorial","13":"product_tag-rhode-island","14":"product_tag-town","15":"post","16":"post-with-thumbnail","17":"post-with-thumbnail-large","19":"first","20":"instock","21":"product-type-simple
["GET
