Dressage refers to maneuvers of the horse in response to body signals by the rider, including hops, leaps and trotting in place.<\/p>\n<p>Georg Simon Winter von Adlersfl\u00fcgel was a German horseman, veterinarian and director of many stud farms. He wrote a number of works in German related to the care and training of horses including <strong>Bellerophon,<\/strong> <strong>New Treatise on Equestrian Topics<\/strong> (1672), which was translated into Latin, French and Italian and illustrated training techniques as well as the softer, more humane bits (mouthpieces) for the horses that he advocated. He also published a book on veterinary medicine in 1674.<\/p>\n<p>Peter Paul Tr\u00f6schel was an etcher born in Nuremberg, Germany. The son of engraver Hans Tr\u00f6schel, he engraved portraits and views and worked for publishers. He signed his works P.T.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Condition: Generally very good with the usual light overall toning and edge wear. Some light scattered staining and foxing, mostly to margins.
