He studied at the Art Student League and by the late 1950s had become a successful illustrator. Although he illustrated for popular magazines such as Look, Life and the Saturday Evening Post, he made his reputation primarily as a book cover artist, working for the major paperback publishers of the day (for example the cover of Ian Fleming&#8217;s James Bond novel <strong>Too Hot to Handle<\/strong>, 1956). After retiring from the commercial art field, he turned to painting landscapes of his native Italy, which he exhibited around the U.S. in fine arts galleries. His work is in the collection of the Society of Illustrators Museum, the Pentagon and the Duke University Museum of Art.<\/p>\n<p>Condition: Generally very good with minor wear and soiling.
