A small poster of the Yale University mascot, a bulldog known as Handsome Dan, drawn in black and white with an oversize trompe-l’oeil blue ribbon tied in a bow at his collar. This antique print is decorated with two lines from Alma Mater, a song with words by J.K. Lombard set to music by Thomas G. Shepard in 1893: “‘Til life’s sun is set we will never forget, But hon-or and love old Yale.” They are lettered in the Art Nouveau style in the school colors, blue and white. Lower right is the university seal. The artist also produced a poster with a similar layout with the Princeton University mascot.

Condition: Generally very good with the usual overall light toning, wear, handling.  Top blank margin apparently reduced, but still ample.
