Group photograph of a teachers and schoolboys posed in front of the brick wall of the South Shields School in the northeast of England around the turn of the 20th century. One of the teachers stands on the right, his hands resting on a large globe. On the back in ink it is inscribed “John Wait of So. Shields,” presumably the name of the boy whose head is outlined in the photo.
Condition: Generally very good, with the usual overall light toning and wear. On original stiff card mount, the mount with some light staining in outer edges.
