18-Inch Terrestrial Table Globe

The terrestrial globe canted at an angle on axis arm, raised on a cast-iron bronze-tone-finished tripod stand with raised stemmed flower, foliate, and rococo decoration, and having three cabriole legs with cabochons at the knees ending in paw feet. With key for Submarine Telegraph Cables, Mean Isothermal Lines for January and July. Oklahoma, shown in part, as Indian Territory. Mostly two toned, light green oceans, cream colored continents.

Description

This globe was lent by the George Glazer Gallery to a A Moment in Time—The Twentieth Century at A Glance, A San Francisco Airport Commission Exhibition held in fall 1999. It was included to show the world at the turn of the Century, at the starting point of the exhibit.
