Price on request

This terrestrial table globe is rare for its red oceans, which the manufacturer referred to as “cherry water.”

The globe is surmounted by an hour disc in a blonde hardwood stand with uncalibrated meridian on a domed support and a chamfered rectangular base. Continents are shades of yellow, green and blue. Israel is shown indicating a date after 1948, but Indochina appears indicating a date prior to 1954. Many African countries have the colonial names they had until the 1950s and ’60s (e.g. French Equatorial Africa, French West Africa, Belgian Congo, Anglo-Egyptian Sudan). Some countries are labeled with their modern names plus their older names in parentheses, e.g. Thailand (Siam), Ethiopia (Abyssinia), and Iran (Persia). The globe is circled at the equator by a silver colored tape printed in black with graduated markings.
