Description
Elke Einsmann was born in Brewen, Belgium, and lived in Czechoslovakia and Germany for most of her youth. She settled in the United Kingdom where she became a renowned so called “naïve” folk art painter. She has had dozens of exhibits at galleries in Europe and the United States primarily during the 1980s and 1990s. Her works are in various museum collections including MIDAN (Museum on International Naïve Art), Vicq, France, and International Museum d’ART Naif Anatole Jacovsky, Nice, France.
Condition: Very good overall, having bright clear colors. In original high quality custom gold leaf frame with incised sgraffito decoration and black panel. In the image posted online, the slightly greyish area above the cat on the left side is from reflection during photography, not present on the actual work.
