A toy tin model of a coast artillery cannon. It is of typical form, the long barreled gun resting on a red-painted stand. Originally the toy was made for loading and firing of a projectile. Presumably it is a model of a weapon used by the U.S. Army Coast Artillery Corps (CAC). This unit was responsible for coastal, harbor, and anti-aircraft defense of the United States between 1901 and 1950.
