Description
This comprehensive guide contains a number of plates showing furniture, decorative arts and curtains, some accompanied by lines of geometry and perspective.
According to the publication Maine Antique Digest, in a 1996 auction “[a] rebound copy of George Smith’s The Cabinet Maker and Upholsterer’s Guide (London, 1826) with 148 plates, some colored, brought $2587.50.”
Condition: Generally good. Plate numbers irregular, but apparently as issued. Nonetheless Seller has not collated this book page by page. Many of the plates are in original full color. Later cloth covers very good, having gilt title on spine. The interior contents with fair to moderate overall toning, foxing, staining, handling, short tears, and light wear to some edges. All contents are intact except for the last few pages of the rear index (from letter “J” and on), which are missing. The index pages are also creased, have scattered tears, and some repair with clear tape. Generally a good reading and reference example of this scarce work. Due to condition issues, 2-week money back guarantee from date of receipt of book if not satisfied — buyer pays shipping costs.
