Cortez - Portrait of the renowned explorer Hernando Cortez, set within an elaborate decorative border incorporating a mermaid and merman. This border is a cut-out overlay, and was used in this edition by Derrick for other oval portraits of Sir William Cecil and Robert Dudley.
