Natural history prints of fish and shells from an Italian zoological atlas. Each is portrayed in its natural environment with the exception of the goldfish in a fish bowl. The simple landscape settings effectively convey general information about the habitats.

The set was originally published in eight volumes: the first one general; the second volume covering primates and monkeys; the third, mammals and cats; the fourth, marine mammals, echidnas and platypuses; the fifth and sixth, birds; the seventh, reptiles and fish; and the eighth, insects, invertebrates, shells and mollusks.

Condition: Generally very good with the usual light toning, wear, soiling, soft creases. Blind stamp lower margin.
