Seagulls circle above a tidal pool amid the sand dunes of Ogunquit, Maine. Ogunquit has been a popular beach vacation spot since the 1880s. Lizette J. Koch was a painter, designer and teacher, born in New York City She studied at Pratt Institute of Art and later settled in New Jersey; she also lived in Ogunquit, Maine. Koch was a member of the National Association of Women Painters and Sculptors, and exhibited her work at the Montclair Art Museum in 1945. She also produced illustrations and cover designs for books, newspapers and magazines such as Motor Boating, Yachting and Home Building. She was associated with Pollak & Sons Publishing Company, New York City. Condition: Generally very good with the usual minor overall toning, wear, light soiling. Reference: Falk, Peter Hastings, ed.
