Decorative colorful maps of the Alsace, Loire Valley and Provence vineyard regions of France with emblems and symbols in background. These posters of the wine growing regions within France were made in an attempt to advertise and promote tourism and boost the wine selling industry as a whole.
Besides designing posters, Hetreau illustrated books, painted murals and designed international exhibitions of French technology. This map from the collection of the George Glazer Gallery appears in the book You Are Here by Katharine Harmon, New York: Princeton Architectural Press, 2004, p. 135. Condition: Linen backed posters in fine condition. Clean and bright with little to no visible touch-up or wear evident. Now rolled, and will be sent rolled. |
