Shows White Plains early in the history of the development of Westchester as a major suburb of New York City. According to the frontis page White Plains is the "County Seat of Westchester and Birthplace of the State of New York." The purpose of the book was further described:

The Daily Reporter presents, on the occasion of its Tenth Anniversary, 'White Plains in Pictures.' The purpose is to give the people of this city a better idea of the beauties and advantages of their home community, and to acquaint with these any outside our city who may be interested in coming to live among us.

Condition: Generally very good, with the usual toning, wear, and handling. Covers a bit worn, soiled, and worn, but intact.
