Two views of New York City, delineating buildings, docks and the bustling river traffic of ships and boats. They were issued prior to the construction of the Brooklyn Bridge. Made with an unusual process, the hand colored engraving was varnished and printed with Federal style black margins with gold borders and letters. The engraving of Brooklyn and Williamsburg shows Governors Island in the foreground.
Condition: Generally very good with the usual light toning, wear, soiling, minor abrasions. Paper somewhat cockled. |
