The terrestrial globe surmounted by brass finial, canted on metal angle arm, raised on brown-patinated cast-iron tripod base with scrolling foliate decoration, the cabriole legs with cabochons at the knees ending in paw feet. 

The earth is dissected into seven horizontal slices parallel to the equator on the Geographic Educator. Six of the removable sections of this 6-inch terrestrial globe have inset puzzles of the continents comprised of numerous removable plastic jigsaw pieces in various colors, with place names shown in raised relief letters. Geographic entities colored in tones of green, yellow, pink, orange, purple, oceans colored pale green. Lindbergh’s transatlantic route in 1927, and steamship routes indicated.

The Geographic Educator was promoted by its manufacturer in the original instructional brochure as “The Invention of the Century” and “The World in Pieces.”

Top Section Stamped on the Underside: GEOGRAPHIC EDUCATOR CORP. NEW YORK, U.S.A

Condition: Generally very good with the usual overall light toning, wear.  Minor chipping and abrasions to gores, neatly restored.  Slices interlock relatively well.  All puzzle pieces present.
