Star Spangled Globes
Fourth of July, 2001

Look! It's Martha! The George Glazer Gallery was featured on the June 29, 2001 episode of the television program "Martha Stewart Living." In a segment titled "Celestial Globes with George," he discussed the history and use of celestial globes with special attention to locating the constellations. George showed Martha antique star cards, a celestial globe by James Wilson, America's first globe maker, a British pocket celestial globe, planispheres and other "star spangled" items.
George Glazer and Martha Stewart, Chairman and CEO, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, tape a segment for the Martha Stewart Living TV program called "Collecting Celestial Globes with George," airing June 29, 2001. Martha Stewart's website is at www.marthastewart.com

Martha Stewart's interview with George covered many of the commonly asked questions about celestials, so we have set up this special section featuring highlights of their conversation. For those interested in an in-depth look at the items, all the photographs are linked to pages on our site where you can view enlargements, details and full descriptions.
