Charming globe, pressed clear glass, showing outline of continents and latitude and longitude lines, and having a hole with pewter threaded cap stamped "OUR COUNTRY," the grey metal stand comprised of half meridian in which the globe freely spins, on ring-turned central standard and domed base. Originally it was most likely a candy container, filled with tiny candy balls. Other similar containers were made in the forms of common objects such as lanterns and pistols.
