The celestial globe having brass hour rings at each pole, in calibrated full brass meridian, the circular horizon band with engraved paper calendar and zodiac, raised with four molded curved quadrant supports, the baluster turned central standard on three downswept legs centering a medial compass stretcher with engraved paper compass (signed J. & W. Newton) and needle enclosed in glass, each leg capped with a roundel above top-form feet
Constellations fully delineated according to classical mythology, with more recently named southern sky constellations conceived as scientific instruments. Stars shown in Magnitudes 1 to 7, as indicated in key. Coloring in shades of olive, blue, burnt orange, with cream background.
