A charming watch stand fitted with a Swiss pocket watch, the carved wooden cream-painted and parcel-gilt stand composed of leaf-and-scroll pediment above the domed case, having twin scrolls with terminal volute scrolls flanking a central circular opening displaying a pocket watch, on a molded rectangular plinth, the back panel lifting to enclose the watch.

Swiss pocket watch by Achard & Fils, the 1 7/8 inch enamel dial with Arabic numerals, minute calibrations, signed Achard & Fils/A GENEVE, the back of the movement similarly engraved, all in a brass circular case.

This watch hutch would make a nice decorative accessory for a formal or provincial setting. Formerly in the Caribbean estate of a prominent retired New York City interior designer.

Condition: Generally good with the usual wear, abrasions, minor chips and losses to carvings, paint, and gilt. Some old worming, not active. Watch in as found condition.
