Scarce, large bird's-eye view of Long Island, from New York City to Montauk, showing its topography and development at the turn of the Century. This was issued by the Long Island Rail Road to promote settlement and development of Long Island, particularly in the Eastern part. Long Island was largely farm land, as is evident from the large rural areas shown on the map. Very decorative with rich clouds in sky and boats in the Atlantic Ocean. New Jersey, Manhattan and other New York boroughs, Westchester and Long Island sound also visible.
